The New Orleans Po-Boy Festival
The First Annual New Orleans Po-Boy Festival will be held this Saturday, November 18, on Oak Street between Carrollton and Cambronne. They've got a great looking website; check out some of the posters; they have this distressed, throwback look that's really well done. The whole thing looks well-organized, particularly for a first time deal.
It looks like they're still in the market for volunteers, so go check it out and see if you might have what they're looking for.
In belated news, my Restaurant Insider column in the November issue of New Orleans Magazine can be found at the link above. It's more or less impossible to find on the website itself; or at least impossible for a moron like me, but I can generally track it down after poking around for a few minutes. Ideally I'd post a link to it here before the month is halfway over, but better late than never.
I'm scheduled to be on Steppin' Out again this Friday and the next. I have begun work on my acceptance speech for the Emmy already:
I would like to thank all of the little people over whose pain-wracked bodies I have trodden on my way to the top. I would like to thank them, but I have already forgotten them. Aha. Ahaha! Ahem.
I kid the little people because I love them.
